Long-sleeve shirt and long pants: Opt for lightweight, long-sleeve shirts and long pants to protect against insects, sun, and potential thorns. Lightweight, breathable fabrics are key for hot days, but for cooler weather, you can layer with more insulating pieces.
Warm jacket: Given that cold fronts from Patagonia can drop temperatures to around 8°C (46°F), it’s essential to have a lightweight insulated jacket or fleece jacket. Choose something packable that will fit easily in your bag but will still keep you warm during colder nights or unexpected weather changes. A windbreaker or softshell jacket would be a good choice, as it will block out the wind and offer light insulation.

2.- Footwear:
Sturdy, waterproof boots: These are important for trekking through muddy trails and protecting your feet from the wet conditions. Make sure they are breathable and can handle both humid and potentially cooler, wet weather.

Insect repellent: With possible cooler weather, insects might be less active, but still bring DEET-based repellent or natural alternatives like picaridin to protect yourself from mosquitoes and other biting insects.
Anti-malarial medication: If recommended by your doctor, continue taking any anti-malarial prophylaxis.
First aid kit: Include the usual essentials, plus extra items like blister pads for any walking that might cause discomfort in new footwear.
Sunscreen: Even in cooler weather, UV rays can be strong, especially with the high humidity in the Amazon.
Headlamp/flashlight: Make sure your headlamp has fresh batteries for nighttime visibility.

By packing a combination of light moisture-wicking clothing, long-sleeve layers, and a warm jacket, you’ll be prepared for both hot, humid weather and the occasional cold spell brought by those Patagonia fronts. Experiencia repetible mil veces
Mi experiencia en la agencia y en especial con Emperatriz, fue fantástica. Me explicó con mucho detalle y de forma entretenido cada lugar que íbamos visitando. ¡¡Lo recomiendo totalmente!! Gracias totales. Cariños desde 🇨🇱
Great experience!
I took guided tours of the Amazon and Peru with Empe in March, and it was an unforgettable experience. Empe welcomed us with a warm, engaging tour of Puerto Maldonado, where I had the chance to explore the city and taste delicious food from local vendors. From Puerto Maldonado, we ventured into the Amazon Rainforest, where Empe led us through the jungle with expert guidance. We saw monkeys, macaws, snakes, and so much more. It was incredible! Every day brought a new adventure, and it’s a journey I’ll always remember.
Amazon trip
I had the wonderful experience being guided by Emperatriz from Andean diaries. We learned about the flora and fauna of the rainforest and how the native communities protect the region. Empe was a master at locating rare animals for photo opportunities. We saw other guides at the lodge and they did not see half as much as us with Empe. I can not wait to go back and see more!
